Improvements
Patches
The latest patch is 3.03. You can get it here.
Unofficial multiplayer server
Although Westwood Chat can still be used to play Red Alert online, CNCNet is much more popular to play the game online.
Issues
Installer doesn't work on 64-bit systems
- Make a folder somewhere on your HDD, for instance C:\Westwood\RA. (default folder)
- Open one of your CD's (doesn't matter which one) and go to the INSTALL folder, and copy it's contents to the folder you've just created.
- Run the 3.03 patch on the folder in which you've just put the files.
- You can now run the game using RA95.exe.
Scrolling too fast
If the game scrolls too fast, even on the lowest settings, try opening RASETUP.exe in your Red Alert folder and enable Back Buffer. If that doesn't work, try using CPU-Grabber.[2]
Scrambled colours on Windows 7
A fix is available here. Put the DLL file in your Red Alert folder.[3]
LAN play doesn't work
A fix is available here. Put the DLL file in your Red Alert folder.
System Requirements
Template:SysReq BaseTemplate (chances are 99% that it will work nowadays)
