3DMark is benchmark software for benchmarking systems, the main target is benchmarking 3d performance. The first 7 versions became completely free with key provided by Futuremark and they can be downloaded from legacy benchmarks section of Futuremark's site. The reference benchmarks are free in up to date versions, the more advanced settings and benchmarks are needed user to buy software.
Older versions may need patches to work on modern versions of Windows.

- - Installer is 16-bit, it won't work on 64-bit windows osses natively. Installation only possible with vinevdm, or 86box emulated machine with 32 bit windows or virtual machine with 32 bit windows. After installation, copying files and apply patches works with modern osses.
- - Vsync is enabled by default, disabling it is needed for max score.
