Anti-aliasing (AA)

Force HSAA for SSAA in OpenGL mode (Nvidia only)[5]
  1. Set the graphics API to OpenGL in-game, then close the game.
  2. Download and run Nvidia Profile Inspector.
  3. Create a new game profile, and name it something such as Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (2015).
  4. Add sobek.exe to the newly created profile.
  5. Set Antialiasing - Mode to Override any application setting.
  6. Set Antialiasing - Setting to 8xS or 8xSQ.
  7. Apply changes.

Notes

While antialiasing can also be set to 16xS or 32xS, no visual differences will occur due to only the supersampling portion of the HSAA functioning; the multisampling portion does not work for this game, and may result in increased GPU usage at no addition visual benefit.
Due to the Nvidia driver's automatic LOD adjustment when using Ordered Grid Supersampling, distant textures may incur minor shimmering, even when mipmapped anisotropic filtering is enabled. This is most noticeable when using the Unfiltered Textures mod.[5]

Royalty free audio
By default, the game applies a low-pass filter over digital audio samples. This behavior can be disabled by setting snd_lowpassfilter to 0 in the configuration file or the console.

Surround Sound

  • Surround sound works by default with the included OpenAL32.dll - which is openAL Soft. You can optionally remove it to rely on your sound cards drivers/hardware instead, this will not work on all sound cards. Does not work on Sound Blaster Z for example, results in only 2.0 stereo sound. Updating the OpenAL32.dll to the latest OpenAL soft .dll no longer works though you can use the included .ini files to configure it for headphone users. If it worked on a previous game engine/dll version, they are no longer working. Reference here claims it used to work, but may only work on the specific sound card/OS referenced:[8]
