Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is a singleplayer and multiplayer first-person action, FPS, shooter and tactical shooter game in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series.

Many progression-related bugs that make completing various quests/areas impossible combined with frequent autosaving. Periodically manually backing up the save folder is highly recommended.[1][dubious – discuss]

Issues fixed

Game changes microphone gain at launch

Modify microphone gain ingame[5]
  1. Start the game.
  2. Go to the audio settings.
  3. Set Microphone Volume to your preferred microphone gain.

FPS drops

Switch Ubisoft Connect to Offline Mode[6]
Modify Nvidia Control Panel and in-game settings[7]
  1. Launch Nvidia Control Panel
  2. Go to Manage 3D settings
  3. Go to Program Settings tab
  4. Click Add and add "GRW.exe"
  5. Set Triple Buffering to On [Note: If you notice input lag, then turn it back Off]
  6. Set Low Latency Mode to Off
  7. Set Vertical sync to Use 3D Application settings
  8. Other settings on that tab should either be default (which is recommended) or set to higher performance instead of quality.
  9. Locking FPS with Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS) improves frametime and stability on this game. Limit FPS to the average FPS you get using RTSS. For example, if FPS ranges between 52-72 FPS, then limit FPS to 60 in RTSS.
  10. Go to game's video settings
  11. Make sure you're running fullscreen and NOT windowed
  12. Set VSYNC to Adaptive. This improves FPS and stuttering on this game
  13. Go to game's graphics settings and set Turf Effects, Long Range Shadows, HIgh Quality DOF, Bloom and Lens Flare to OFF. Game runs and looks better with these turned OFF.
  14. Ambient Occlusion, Shadow Quality and Draw Distance can be lowered without noticeable difference in graphics and doing so can improve FPS and stability
  15. Restart the game and play.

Slow loading texture

Because the game is very demanding on the CPU (100% CPU usage) causing textures to not load fast[8]
  1. Lock FPS in game options to 60 FPS or less (I mean to a value where the CPU is not used at 100%)

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/460930/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (460930) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
