Seems like only the CD version of the game makes use of SafeDisc. The DVD version seems to use something else that Protection ID can't identify but works fine on Windows 10.

Solarstrike (talkcontribs)

I didn't know there was a DVD version!

Jimi19 (talkcontribs)

Might have been only released in Europe and Australia. All copies i can find online is from there. (Including mine)

RibShark (talkcontribs)

There are multiple DVD versions, some of which have SafeDisc and some of which do not.

Added new PS3 HD texture mod, and Reshade

Was the game poorly ported or something? I might as well just emulate it at this point.

RibShark (talkcontribs)

Yeah, pretty much. Rayman M/Arena run on an older version of the engine and work fine, so it's something they must have changed in Rayman 3.

RibShark (talkcontribs)

In the latest version of my patch for the game, Better Rayman 3, the framedrops have been reduced to much more acceptable levels.

Jigen123 (talkcontribs)

Si, did you find out what is causing the frame drops?

RibShark (talkcontribs)

Two things: the first was that the game was taking the framerate of the monitor, and multiplying it by 1.2 for some reason (trying to convert from PAL to NTSC for some reason maybe?), which is obviously incorrect and caused some issues. The second is that the game was programmed to halve the framerate in certain situations, but it wasn't very good at deciding when to do that. Just disabling that part of the code fixes that issue.

Today, a user (who was not logged in) changed this page, changing "Full motion video cutscenes are invisible on resolutions wider than 16:10." to "Full motion video cutscenes are invisible on resolutions wider than 16:9.". I have tested this extensively, and I know for certain that at 16:10, cutscenes are visible, but if you even go one pixel wider, they will be black. Therefore, the original sentence was correct and I am reverting the edit.

Launch notepad as an admin. Do the thing where you select all files. Copy path, right click modify path or paste path into file path to open the path, easier. TriLinear=16 for aniso

RaTcHeT302 (talkcontribs)

Win/Ubi might not work, use %appdata% virtual store windows ubi instead

RaTcHeT302 (talkcontribs)

Remember to ask what the virtualstore thing was used for because I forgot, thing.
