Issues fixed

Game doesn't load or crashes on 64bit Windows OS

Utilize noCD Patch with DDrawCompat and Compatibility Mode
  1. Install game
  2. Replace SBK2001.exe with the "1.0 noCD" .exe (do not add any other files or perform other actions)
  3. Download DDrawCompat-v0.5.1 and place ddraw.dll in SBK 2001 folder
  4. Set SBK2001.exe to Win98/ME compatibility and 16-bit color mode.
  5. In-game, auto configure graphics and uncheck Real Shadows.

Notes:

If the game somehow crashes or doesn't work, try Win XP SP3 compatibility instead of Win98.

Game crashes after loading track

Affects Windows XP and later.
Use Unofficial Patch.[citation needed]

Game crashes on launch and freezes on loading tracks on modern operating systems

Apply compatibility settings[citation needed]
  1. Set SBK2001.exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98/ME.
  2. In the game's graphics settings, set rendering mode to software rendering.
