Custom resolutions

Modifying configuration file[4]
  1. Open <path-to-game>\default.cfg with a text editor.
  2. For the gr_init_resolution variable, set the custom width and height.
  3. Save the file.

Notes

This will apply to all profiles. Attempting to override this for a specific profile in its own <user-id>.cfg file will fail on the first run, but be transferred to the main default.cfg on the next.
Cinematics will be stretched from 4:3 to fill the target resolution.

Increase draw distance

Edit configuration file
  1. Edit <path-to-game>\Main.ini
  2. Go to the [GRAPH] section, and increase the ZFarPlane value. A value of around 10000.0f covers even the largest maps.

Notes

  1. This version of StarForce DRM does not work on Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or Windows 11.[1][2] For supported versions of Windows the StarForce driver may need to be updated manually using SFUPDATE.
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  3. 3.0 3.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/46270/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (46270) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
