Windowed

Use Necrovision Extended Menu[1]
  1. Download and extract Necrovision: Lost Company Extended Menu.
  2. Copy extracted files to game's location.
  3. Run the game and disable fullscreen mode from in-game's options.

Notes

It is very likely that the game will bug out when trying to set Windowed mode when using DirectX 10 renderer - use DirectX 9 instead.[1]
The game natively starts in fullscreen mode no matter the config option. Simply go to game's options and toggle fullscreen option twice to force the game to Windowed mode.

Issues unresolved

Unable to change weapon selection

Other symptoms include doubling letters when typing commands in the console, as if the game gets confused with something being released with something being pressed.
Workaround[citation needed]
  1. Press middle mouse button (for melee attack) and left mouse button (firing weapon).
  2. Select weapons as normal.

Issues fixed

Game renders blurry/unfocused

Run the game with the +dx10 command line argument.[citation needed]

Script errors appear when launching

May be caused by a faulty desktop shortcut.
Run the game executable file directly[3]

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/46250/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (46250) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
