Issues unresolved

Audio broken from Kimimaro Ultimate Jutsu

Kimimaro Ultimate Jutsu is still heard in game if you finish someone with it.
Restart game[1]

Game is still running

After closing the game, it may still run in background.
Open task manager and find qwant, nsuns or naruto in processes and end task it[1]

Issues fixed

In Free Battles 2nd player can't join with M&K

You can't use M&K as a 2nd player in Free Battles if you loaded the game with a controller. You can however load the game with M&K and then play with a controller as a 2nd player.
Use KeyboardSplitterXbox[1]

Issue with tree minigames

Game has black background only in tree minigames.
Your specs are low, you can mitigate it by lowering in game options or by downloading an 100% save file and skipping all tree minigames missions[2]

Ultimate Mission won't open

Game doesn't detect the controller or it detects as 2nd player.
Unplug and replug the controllers[3]
If this persists, unplug all USB devices and just leave only one controller with M&K. 2nd controller should only be used in Free Battle.

Audio not playing

Whether or not you have DirectX, the game will play without installing it. If you encounter audio not playing, that's most likely the cause.
Install DirectX from Microsoft[4]
  1. Use the web installer.
  2. If the installer fails, proceed to the next step. If the installer is successful and the problem is not fixed, proceed to the next step.
  3. Download the offline installer.
  4. Open the downloaded file and extract the files to a temporary location of your choice. Go to where you extracted the files and select DXSETUP.exe
  5. After the installation, you can safely delete the extracted files.

Issues with quick time events and some in-game actions

Running the game at 60 FPS introduces some gameplay problems: quick time events requires double the inputs compared to 30 FPS and the reaction time for dashing and performing the Substitution Jutsu is halved.
Lock the frame rate to 30 FPS[5]
  1. Go to the configuration file location.
  2. Open config.ini.
  3. Change fps=1 to fps=0.

Audio saturation bug fix

If the game sounds wrong, oversaturated-like, follow these steps:
Change audio format[6]
  1. Right click on the sound Icon on the windows bar
  2. Click 'Playback Devices'
  3. Click on the speaker you are currently using
  4. Click 'Properties' and go to the Advanced tab
  5. Change the Default Format to '24 bit, 44100hz'

  1. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
