Essential improvements[edit]

Run in DOSBox[edit]

To run correctly in DOSBox change timed=true to timed=false. Leave all other settings at their defaults.[4]

Game data[edit]

Save game data location[edit]

System Location
DOS <path-to-game>\*.MR1
Windows <path-to-game>\*.MR1
macOS (OS X)
Linux (Proton) <Steam-folder>/steamapps/compatdata/358200/pfx/[Note 1]
HIGH.MR1 contains high score data, other files are player profiles.
File extensions include the episode number (1-3).
In-game settings are stored in each save rather than shared (some settings are not stored between sessions).

Notes

  1. File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/358200/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (358200) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
