Go to regedit, press F3 search OEMNAME and replace your joystick name to "XBOX 360 Controller for Windows" without quotes.
To address this issue, you'll need to do the following:
1. Right-click "My Computer" and choose "Manage".
2. From there, go to "Device Manager" and in the new window double-click "Human Interface Devices".
3. Now right-click and disable only the "HID-compliant device" entries. If this doesn't work (after testing how your game works), disable the "HID-compliant consumer control device" entries.
After you've done this your keyboard and mouse SHOULD still work but the extra features associated with them won't work.
NOTE: When you've finished this game and don't want to play it anymore, simply reverse the changes and re-enable those entries in Device Manager as most other games are not affected by this issue.
