Corrupt save file
[
edit

Exiting the game at certain moments can lead to a corrupt save game.
[1]
Replace corrupt file with a new one
[3]
Do NOT create a new Autosave. Exit the game after seeing the message about the corrupt save file.
Create a copy of the
save game folder
.
Restart game, create a new Autosave and exit normally.
Replace the new save folder file by file with your old save and start the game each time.
When encountering the corrupt save message, remember the file, that got replaced before. It is the corrupt one.
Create a new Autosave as prompted and exit the game normally.
Replace all files in the new save game folder with your old save with the exception of the corrupt one.
Notes
Doesn't restore the content stored in the corrupt file.
[2]
Not an option, if a new Autosave got created prior to making a copy of the folder.
Restore older version
[4]
Go to the
save game location
.
Right click on the folder and pick "Restore previous version".
Notes
Progress made after restoring point is lost.
Windows restore function needs to be activated prior to the incident.
