Issues unresolved

Corrupt save file

Issue may be prevented with Patch 1.01.
Exiting the game at certain moments can lead to a corrupt savegame.[4]
Replace corrupt file with a new one[5]
  1. Do NOT create a new Autosave. Exit the game after seeing the message about the corrupt savefile.
  2. Create a copy of the savegamefolder.
  3. Restart game, create a new Autosave and exit normally.
  4. Replace the new savefolder file by file with your old save and start the game each time.
  5. When encountering the corrupt save message, remember the file, that was replaced earlier. It is the corrupt one.
  6. Create a new Autosave as prompted and exit the game normally.
  7. Replace all files in the new savegamefolder with your old save with the exception of the corrupt one.

Notes

Does not restore the content stored in the corrupt file.[6]
Not an option, if a new Autosave was created prior to making a copy of the folder.
Restore older version[7]
  1. Go to the savegamelocation.
  2. Right click on the folder and pick "Restore previous version".

Notes

Progress made after restoring point is lost.
Windows restorefunction needs to be active prior to the incident.

Other information

Play without Games for Windows - LIVE

Play without GFWL[citation needed]
  1. Download the replacement xlive.dll.
  2. Extract into <path-to-game>

Notes

This cuts most online content.
Previous made saves can not be read and are treated by the game as corrupt saves (the prompted creation of a new save may overwrite the players progress).

  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/44310/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (44310) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
