Widescreen resolution

Custom resolution[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open MonkeyGame.ini.
  3. Add the following line under the [MonkeyGame.MKGamerProfile] section:
    m_ResolutionValues=3200x1800
    • Set the value to the desired resolution.
  4. Select the new resolution in the options menu.
  5. Use Widescreen Fixer with this plugin to improve support for 21:9 and multi-monitor resolutions.

Windowed

Force windowed[citation needed]
  1. Download and run DxWnd.
  2. Click on Edit, then Add.
  3. Choose a name and set the executable path.
  4. Set the window position and size.
  5. Change Position from X, Y coordinates to Desktop for borderless fullscreen windowed.
  6. Go to the Video tab.
  7. Change Screen resolution from SVGA to Native.
  8. Still under Screen Resolution, check Initial resolution and set the correct resolution for your screen.
  9. Click OK, then File and Save.
  10. Now when you launch the game through Steam, you should see a short splash intro of DxWnd, which will let you know it is working.

Anisotropic filtering (AF)

  2. Open MonkeyEngine.ini.
  3. Find MaxAnisotropy and change it to MaxAnisotropy=16.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

  3. Find MaxMultisamples and set the desired value (1, 2, 4, 8, 16).

High frame rate

  3. Change bSmoothFrameRate to FALSE or raise MaxSmoothedFrameRate value.

Notes

May cause a bug in chapter 13 making you unable to progress unless you change the fps cap to 60. May be fixed by alt-tabbing out of the game and alt-tabbing back into the game.[2][3]
