Key points

This game is hidden. Visit steam://install/92 in your browser to install the game. It will ask you if you want to "Launch Application", that application being Steam.
The game was originally supposed to be an April Fools' Day joke in which Gabe Newell would announce that the release date for Half-Life 2 had been moved up further, albeit with some parts cut out.[1]
The game was taken off Steam in February 2008 because the company that had made it went bankrupt.
Available as freeware

Notes

  1. File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/92/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (92) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
