Issues fixed[edit]

Run the game at screen refresh rate[edit]

Rebellion's Asura engine may automatically set monitor refresh rate to 60 Hz; this can result in reduced smoothness on a high refresh rate monitor even if GPU render shows a high FPS count.
Set display refresh rate[citation needed]
  1. Download Special K.
  2. Copy SpecialK32.dll to the installation folder.
  3. Rename SpecialK32.dll to dxgi.dll.
  4. Start the game and exit.
  5. Open dxgi.ini in the installation folder.
  6. Change RefreshRate=-1 to RefreshRate=0 under [Render.FrameRate].

Notes

If your monitor has a manual refresh rate toggle button, you can use that to set a higher refresh rate instead of using a custom .dll.

No servers available[edit]

Change server type[citation needed]

In the in game browser set Server Type to Dedicated (Internet).

Alternative method[citation needed]
  1. Open Steam, click on View > Servers.
  2. Under Game select Alien vs Predator.
  3. Select the server you would like to play.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/10680/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (10680) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
