Key points

Dawn of War and all of its expansions are highly modifiable and several high quality mods are available
If you own a boxed copy of the game you can request a free Steam key from Sega.[1]
To unlock the original races for multiplayer, Dawn of War (and Winter Assault if desired) must be installed to prompt unlocking
Online server browser for non-Steam versions no longer works due to GameSpy services being shut down

Field of view (FOV)

This fix will greatly enhance zoom capabilities.
Field of view (FOV)[citation needed]
  1. Download Camera Zoom Mod.
  2. Copy .lua file to Dawn of War\Engine\Data\

Windowed

Cursor may sometimes be unlocked to the game. Switch tasks to resolve.
Windowed[citation needed]
  1. Run the game at least once to generate required .ini file.
  2. Open <path-to-game>\Local.ini.
  3. Change screenwindowed=0 to screenwindowed=1.

Vertical sync (Vsync)

Disable vertical sync (Vsync)[citation needed]
  1. Run game at least once to generate .ini file.
  2. Open <path-to-game>\Local.ini.
  3. Change screennovsync=0 to screennovsync=1.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Forcing AA via graphics driver will result in greater AA. INI fix is probably only 2x AA.
Forcing AA will render fonts blurry and harder to read.
Anti-aliasing (AA)[citation needed]
  1. Run game at least once to generate .ini file.
  2. Open <path-to-game>\Local.ini.
  3. Change screenantialias=0 to screenantialias=1.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/4580/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (4580) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
