Hi this contributions doesn't seem to work: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=SWAT_4&type=revision&diff=433165&oldid=422937

The game seems to use Direct Sound only during the initial cutscenes, and then just uses OpenAL in-game. As this contribution relies on using Direct Sound, the suggested adjustments will have no effect. Did the author test the suggestions before submitting them? I tried to reproduce it on my own machine without success. I also inspected the original DefOpenAL.dll file that comes with the game, and it has no imports of "dsound.dll" what so ever.

Hi,

Of course it works I use it everytime with this game (creative alchemy wrapper). The game use openAL but as you seems do to not know is that Openal can output to directsound3D, as it was on windows XP.

Openal Can output to : Generic software Generic Hardware (DS3D) native openAL device (not always true, especially for very old game).

The "wrap_oal.dll" library exposes two OpenAL implementations -- "Generic Hardware" (using DirectSound 3D) and "Generic Software" (using either DirectSound or MMSYSTEM). Each of these implementations will be enumerated as a separate "device."

I will add back the deleted content.
