My setup
I played using the Epic Game Store version, via the Heroic Launcher. There is a native Linux version of this game, but I did not use it. I used the Windows version via WINE/Proton.
Notes
- The fields only show if they have something in the notes, even if the parameter is set to 'true'. I'm uncertain if this is intentional, but it seems like an undesirable behaviour. I entered 'Note.' in every note field to make the main field show up.
- The template seems to assume that the user will play via Steam only, when in reality there are a myriad of ways to install the non-Steam version of the game. For the Epic Game Store version, one could install it:
- via Heroic Launcher
- via Lutris
- via Bottles
- via commandline WINE setup
- I think there could be some call for a Steam version of the template, and a generic version that lets the user define the installation method and asks other question, such as WINE settings.
It'd also be useful for the writer to recommend the known working method.
- Should there perhaps be a field where one can record the most optimal version of WINE/Proton distribution that performs most optimally?
- I'm not sure what 'crossplatform saves' means. Does that refer to transferring saves between different stores (Steam vs Epic) or different platform (PS4 vs PC)?
- I'm not certain how to disable the info lines using {{ii}} template.
- Should there be a field which asks whether the game is playable in docked state with higher resolution? Shadow of the Tomb Raider is not performant enough when docked to a 1080p external screen, but other games are.
- Should there be a way to indicate whether a native version exists and which one performs better? Shadow of the Tomb Raider does have a native version, but Windows version is also playable. Sometimes the Windows version is even better than native. Jra (talk) 19:20, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
