I though it would be better to open up talk instead of looking at constant edit war.

Basically things like achievements, trading cards, etc. aren't the main focus on articles as those are tied into service running the game, not the game itself, how well it runs or problems related to that. There's discussion about this back in 2013. Something like missing game content like with Prince of Persia (2008) is another story and even there it's only mentioned under DLC.

I know exactly the feeling of consoles getting somewhat superior experience in that front, especially for players completing games 100%, but it's pretty easy to research that info yourself (always told at store page) and there are other sites dedicated to just that (and cards, etc.). It's also argueable that achievements may be somewhat subjective thing as some will not care about those at all. Also that era games have many many titles that has trophies/achievements on PS3/360 (as because they became mandatory) but on PC they were sold also outside Steam and Origin/uPlay wasn't a thing. That's another thing as achievements are somewhat fragmented along differend platforms.

I disagree somewhat.

You said achievements are not "not the game itself", but technically speaking, that's untrue since there is ACTUAL CODE in the GAME ITSELF which unlocks achievements (set conditions a player must fulfill). Thus, a part of the game (actual code) may be missing in the PC version.

Steam Trading Cards are not part of the game code, they're just unlocked basely on random time intervals.

And sure, everyone may not care about achievements, but as long as there are people who DO, I think it deserves a mention.

That doesn't fit with the scope of the wiki, and mentioning that for every wiki page is simply pointless. And the reason behind the key point is also kinda eh.

Devina (talkcontribs)

What IS the scope of this wiki? Why can't the "scope" be changed? Or bent a little? Why can't we try new things?

I figured the key points can be used to list major/minor deviances from the console versions.

Personally, I can somewhat agree with you. I would've loved to get achievements on Mirror's Edge like I did with PS3 version :p

And it seems like many others agree as well, I can find tons and tons of forum threads about missing achievements on that title only. It seemed to be that eras trend especially on EAs side.

However, I mainly meant that message from the standpoint of regular wiki user who had some achievement and console related points removed because they weren't the point of the wiki and I can understand why they aren't the point of wiki. They would be, if they were implemented but not working with some scenarios for example. That's why I was saying it's not useful to anyone, if information is edited back and forth. At that point is better to adapt guidelines of the wiki, start up discussion about the topic so others can comment on it and perhaps even change it or contacting mod/admin about the issue if you feel like mistreated.

See my point above how "I figured the key points can be used to list major/minor deviances from the console versions."

Gamers come to PCGamingWiki to see how good PC ports are. Because of this, I feel that if a PC port is missing anything (and I mean ANYTHING) from the console version (whether it be features, DLC, achievements, etc), then it should be mentioned.

If you can point me in the right direction as to *where* I would propose/ask about this, that would be helpful, thanks.
