I often find myself having issues with dots writing articles, some people for example put a dot after every key point, other people don't even add a dot after the key points.

When do you add a dot?

Anonymous (talkcontribs)

Always. Tables, key points, everywhere.

It's only proper, and actually correct. And if not, that's the policy in place at the moment.

Periods (not "dots") are only included in a Key point if it contains multiple sentences, and even then, they are not added at the end of the final sentence.

A simpler explanation: Don't use periods to end a Key point, only to separate multiple sentences.

That's completely counter intuitive. I'd rather add them everywhere, the only place where I don't add dots is if there's a sentence ending with a code tag. So that I won't end up copying the dot accidentaly while copying what's inside the tag.

Um, yes they are :)

This is not a bulleted list in a proper sense (in which case we'd have semicolons as well). Periods go at the end of a key point. Not general information, but most definitely key points.
