I think this game uses iMUSE (it's mentioned in the opening credits). Typically replacement music isn't possible with iMUSE because of the way music tracks get mixed together (I've seen something like this mentioned in a ScummVM context before, but I'll try to find a source).

I mean, I know it isn't possible for the iMUSE titles from Monkey Island 2 to Sam and Max, because those are dynamically composed MIDI, but Full Throttle onward use some form of prerecorded music (which was necessary for the licensed tracks in Full Throttle), so it theoretically might be possible.
