Talk:List of games that support multi-monitor

This isn't really multi-monitor support at all

"Supporting" multi-monitor is perhaps an ambiguous title, I think that this page is trying to indicate games that have some kind of "pick a monitor" UI setting? However that's quite different from actually rendering to multiple monitors natively in the game (e.g. Supreme Commander, some racing games). I think in the modern day the current page meaning just isn't very useful as games almost uniformly run as borderless windowed and can be moved manually by the user. Maybe it's better to call it "supports monitor selection" instead of multi-monitor. I think the other comment here is probably stating this as well but I wanted to clarify the whole picture.

I... am surprised... You actually managed to confound me...

I was about to mention how PCGW's definition of multi-monitor as per the Editing Guide was games that spanned more than one display -- i.e. not "monitor selection".

But the editing guide actually lacks that clarification properly... The only thing that hints of it is "Games with AMD Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround should support this automatically." The Multi-monitor glossary page also lists "Multi-monitor refers to multiple physical monitors used for a single game output" though.

The original intention of the multi-monitor row on PCGW was to indicate if the game could span more than one displays, but based on the number of "supported titles" in this category there's no doubt that most people seems to mistake it for being intended to list support for a "monitor selection" option...

Well, we're in a pickle right now, lol.
