Epic Games Version doesn't seem to be DRM Free anymore

I just tested my epic games copy of the game by turning off internet, logging off epic game store and moving the game directory to a different folder. I could get the launcher to load but never the game itself. I tried all 3 available executables.

But the GOG version is already 1.7.0.3?

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

From what I know, it's 1.7.0.4 as well as Steam version. Every digital copy got this update.

Then looks like I've got a fake info. Thanks for correction.

- While running the game unmodded, FPS reaches high values but remains visually choppy, as if it's running at 60 Hz.

- In my case, installing Stutter Remover (v4.1.36) did the trick.

I'm also running downgraded version of the game (v1.7.0.3) and experimental FOSE (v1.3 b2).

Now, for some reason the solution of using Stutter Remover was edited out and removed in 2019, referring to it not being supported by W10. I'm currenting running W10 21H2 and can confirm it working. Do recommend restoring 'hackable' status.

Alternatively, there are also "Fallout 3 Tick Fix" and "lStewieAl's Tweaks".

Stutter remover may cause crashes in W10 after a certain major system update released years ago. Many people reported that in Nexus Mods, and I personally confirmed it. There's an option in FSR's .ini config file which reduces most of the random crashes I believe, but it still didn't get rid of crashes during loading and fast travelling, and those were reproducible. I believe F3TF is a more up-to-date and stable solution. lStewieAl's Tweaks includes it, as you've said.

Fallout 3 Stutter Remover no longer works with modern versions of Windows 10, the Windows 10 Patcher mod that slipped in also points to a users random mod on sourceforge that can't be verified if it's harmful or could be made harmful.

A quick search gave me a 58.21% usage statistic on Win10. I don't think we should start completely deleting references already because something isn't currently working on Win10, it can still be useful for plenty of people.

Also, deleting a link -only- because you didn't like a popular opinion a forum has... is asinine.

So.. This is not strictly fallout 3 related, though I always wondered what was the mystery behind the alleged Windows7 multi-core crashes..
