Should the Duke Nukem Forever 2001 leak get its own page?

Recently an extremely early build of DNF leaked. Should there be a page for it?

Jigen123 (talkcontribs)

I would avoid that for now considering how questionable Gearbox is and how they usually act. The leak just happened. Let's wait and see how Gearbox reacts to the leak in the next few days.
That's just my 2 cents tho, maybe the admins have a different opinion.

Baronsmoki (talkcontribs)

The game is playable, right? Then it's something PCGW should cover. If the legality of the archive.org download is questionable, we can just avoid linking to it.

Agreed with both. Although the game is unfinished, there are a lot of playable segments, and the community is really interested in it. I feel that we should have a page, without any download links even if Gearbox is fine with it.

You are free to create a page for the leaked build, mate. Baronsmoki, a moderator, gave you permission in his post.
Plus it seems Gearbox is just ignoring the leak. They really don't care about poor Duke anymore and have no future plans for the ip i guess.

Over at the WSGF Discord, skipclarke gave us permission to create a page. The only thing we can't do is host the game's files and fixes directly, so I assume you can link to outside fixes, just not host them here.

While covering the game itself on PCGW is fine, linking to an actual download of it etc is not and should be avoided. See for example how it's handled on the Super Mario 64, or Doom 64 EX where while we link to the fan-made port, the actual data that the port requires is not linked to anywhere.
