I've downloaded the game via Steam (german user). The hex codes cannot be found 1:1, however there are kind of similar ones. There is also a folder called 'legacy' with a smaller game exe which has the mentioned hex coded 1:1. I can start the game within the legacy folder and the prebuilt binaries. But it's unplayable. I've used the 1366x768 variant and even set my display resolution to 1366x768. Unfortunately, I cannot move the map anymore. It looks like zoomed in. The right and bottom part is partially missing. Edit: well I've justed noticed the Steam version works best for me at the highest resolution - out of the box without a widescreen fix! The training scenario is just 4:3, but when you zoom in, the entire screen 16:9 screen is used. 800x600 is okay, too. But the intermediate resoltions like 1024x768 unplayable, though.
Talk:Commandos 2: Men of Courage
I think the save game data location listed here is incorrect. I'm running the steam version of Commandos 2 (the original, not the remaster) and my savegames are stored here:
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Commandos II\OUTPUT\
Steam Commandos 2 actually consists of two games, main and "Legacy", the latter one is located in Legacy subfolder. Main game saves into folder %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Commandos II\OUTPUT\, Legacy into its output subfolder, ie <path-to-game>\Legacy\OUTPUT\.
I've updated the article.
