Is the game really DRM-Free on Steam? We need a confirmation, IMHO

I originally flagged the mention of the game being available in DRM-Free on Steam as in need of a reference, but it got deleted.

Don't you think we should flag it?

What if someone buys the Steam version only to find out that it's not true? Of course, they can ask for a refund, but that's not great experience and the person would not be happy about the article. -Bowi (talk) 13:31, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi Bowi, I just checked with my own version of the game (steam). Everything works with the manipulation. The only thing that is not working is the achievements in the main menu. A window opens and nothing is displayed. Impossible to close it, you have to press alt + f4.

Bowi (talkcontribs)

Thanks. Weird... Sounds like a bug... Does it happen if you play with DRM enabled?

The achievements window works when the game is launched from steam. And of course if the game is launched without steam, it is not possible to send a planet to the workshop, but it is possible to save it on the hard drive of the computer.

Deleted contribution about an inferior version of the game being sold on PC.

I noticed the information about different versions (one being inferior) of the game being a sold has been deleted: www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=Before_We_Leave&diff=1269104&oldid=1268423

Don't you think this is useful information that we should add back? I won't do it myself, because I'm the one who originally wrote the info and I'm a bit angry about the deletion.

The PC Game Pass version (as well as the purchasable version on Microsoft Store) is inferior: www.beforeweleave.fandom.com/wiki/Patches#Console_Edition_(23/11/2021)_(fork)

Oh... Someone on the Discord server sent me to this article for a way to re-add the info: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I'll add the info after all. πŸ˜… -Bowi (talk) 12:27, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Hello all, when editing, I only intended to correct the labels for the version from the Microsoft Store, which I own. It was not my intention to remove any of the comments and I can't explain right now how that happened. Regarding the Steam release situation, I can't contribute anything either. Sorry, I'll have to be more careful about that in the future.

No worries! I assumed good faith, even if I was annoyed. I shouldn't have vented here. πŸ˜… (At least I was honest. πŸ˜†)

Also, this provided with a learning experience: a "Version differences" sub-section is usually the best place to talk about that; not the "Availability" table. πŸ™‚ -Bowi (talk) 19:26, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

I'll need to double-check with the developer, but I think that Team17 joined as the publisher later in 2021, as we can read [www.discord.com/channels/518881049569394688/564651447468163083/836823548081078293 here, on Discord].

I also think they signed for publishing rights on their upcoming game, but that's irrelevant. πŸ˜… -ΒBowi (talk) 13:40, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
