Tweaking the .ini to add true MSAA, Anisotropic Filtering and Triple Buffering

Modify BattleSystemSettings.ini[citation needed]
  1. Before editing, make a backup of BattleSystemSettings.ini. You will only be modifying settings that fall under the primary [SystemSettings] section, [SystemSettingsBucket] sections contain presets that should not be touched.
  2. Go to %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Smite\BattleGame\Config\
  3. Open BattleSystemSettings.ini.
  4. Using the Find function (Ctrl+F), search for the following lines:
  5. MaxAnisotropy and change it to the desired number (max 16) (extremely minimal performance impact).
  6. Change bAllowD3D9MSAA=False to bAllowD3D9MSAA=True to enable MSAA. MaxMultisamples controls the number of MSAA samples, goes up to 8.
  7. If you use Vsync, find bUseTripleBuffering=False and change it to bUseTripleBuffering=True.
  8. Save the file and launch the game.

  1. File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/386360/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (386360) may differ in some cases.
