Issues fixed

Ambient Sounds And Modem

The Unimodem device may cause a startup BSOD. Either method below can help resolve this.
Disable Unimodem device (if you don't use it)[citation needed]
  1. Open Device Manager.
    • Windows 8 and later: right click the Start corner, choose Device Manager.
    • Vista and 7: open the Start Menu, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
    • Windows XP: press Win+R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
  2. Find the entry for "unimodem half-duplex audio device", or similar.
  3. Right click the unimodem device, choose Disable, choose Yes.
  4. Close Device Manager.
Toggle Unimodem device during gameplay (if you use it)[citation needed]
  1. Download Devcon.
  2. Extract it somewhere convenient.
  3. Use Notepad to save the text below as riven.bat in the same folder as devcon.exe, editing the device name so that it matches what's listed in Device Manager, and the path to the EXE so that it matches what's in the existing shortcut:
devcon disable "unimodem half-duplex audio device" "C:\GOG Games\Riven\riven.exe" devcon enable "unimodem half-duplex audio device"
  4. Run the batch file to launch the game; this will automatically disable the device, launch the game, then re-enable it when you finish playing.[1]
