Download Devcon.

Save it to C:\Windows\system32

Use Notepad to save the text below as riven.bat, editing the device name so that it matches what's listed in Device Manager, and the path to the EXE so that it matches what's in the existing shortcut:

devcon disable "unimodem half-duplex audio device" c:\games\gog\riven.exe devcon enable "unimodem half-duplex audio device"
