Key points

Saves can be imported from the previous Quest for Glory games. The game provides also a premade Paladin save for players without one, since the Paladin class is otherwise available only for imported characters who have earned it in Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire or Quest for Glory III: Wages of War
The retail version requires QuickTime for FMVs, which can cause issues due to the old version bundled with game having poor compatibility with modern systems. While newer versions of QuickTime work with the retail version, many players have reported crashes in the specific spots
In addition to other compatibility fixes, the digital re-release on GOG.com and Steam does not require QuickTime

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/502750/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (502750) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
