Use PRIC to adjust the weapon FOV or have a fixed FOV when sprinting.

See the glossary page for potential alternatives.

Anti-aliasing (AA)

Make the game use TSSAA without SMAA[5][6][7]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open game.cfg.
  3. Add these lines:
    r_AntialiasingMode = 4
    r_AntialiasingTAAPattern = 11

  4. Add optional r_AntialiasingTSAAMipBias = -1 to add a bit of sharpening to the image to counter blurriness from TAA.
  5. Save and close. Make the file read-only, because if not the changes will revert after launching the game.

High frame rate

Custom FPS cap[8]
  1. Open the game and make a change to any video setting.
  2. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  3. Open game.cfg.
  4. Change sys_MaxFPS = XX, where "XX" is the desired FPS cap.
  5. Save the changes.

Notes

Changing the value to 0 caps the frame rate at 60 FPS.
Alternatively, higher frame rates can also be achieved by turning on V-sync. This introduces some input lag, but the amount is very small at frame rates over 144.

Post-processing

Use Prey Interface Customizer[9]
Adds custom image sharpening and toggles for motion blur and crouch vignette.
Use Real Lights plus Ultra Graphics[9]
Adds custom image sharpening slider and toggles for chromatic aberration and film grain.
Disable motion blur(s) manually[10]

  3. Add the line r_MotionBlur = 0 to disable all motion blur.
  4. Add the line r_MotionBlurCameraMotionScale = 0.0 to disable only camera motion blur while keeping per object blur.
  5. Save the changes.
Disable motion blur(s) manually (Xbox Game Pass version)
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open game.cfg.
  3. Add the line r_MotionBlur = 0 to disable all motion blur.
  4. Add the line r_MotionBlurCameraMotionScale = 0.0 to disable only camera motion blur while keeping per object blur.
  5. Save the changes.

  2. Open actionmaps.xml with Notepad.
  3. Look for the line <actionmap name="player"> and paste the following code below it.
  <action name="enter_focusmode">

  </action>
  <action name="mouse_enter_focusmode">
   <rebind device="keyboard" input="b" defaultInput="mwheel_up"/>

Issues fixed

Kirk Remmer not spawning

Edit the save files
  1. Make a backup of your current saves and disable Steam Cloud.
  2. Go to the Cargo Bay and make a new manual save, then quit the game.
  3. Go to your save game location and to the manual# folder for the save you made in step 2.
  4. Move the lifesupport.level file to another folder.
  5. Start the game and load the manual save from step 2.
  6. Enter Life Support (you will know it worked when there are enemies and the level has reset) and make your way down to the Escape Pods.
  7. If you go into the Escape Pods and don't find a phantom named kirk Remmer, quit the game and delete the lifesupport.level file from the manual# folder and try again.
  8. If you go into the Escape Pods and find him, kill him and loot him, the objective should update.
  9. Go back to the Cargo Bay and once inside save over the manual save you made in step 2 and quit the game.
  10. Move the original lifesupport.level file (the one moved to another folder in step 4) into the manual# folder overwriting the one you just used to find Kirk Remmer.
  11. Continue as normal from the save in step 9.
