Version differences

The European retail version of the base game has enemy executions and the elementary school cutscene at the end of the game removed.
Super POSTAL (the Japanese version) adds two new levels, in addition to Special Delivery (Tokyo & Osaka). Some regard this release as an expansion however it was actually a full version of the Postal game.
Postal Plus (Postal: Classic and Uncut in Europe) includes the Special Delivery expansion.
The Fudge Pack, Postal X: 10th Anniversary edition, and Postal XX are compilation packs that include Postal Plus, Postal 2 and several of Postal 2's most popular mods and its main expansion. Some later versions also include Steam keys for the digital version.
The Steam version includes additional updates which allow for running a game in window mode and widescreen resolutions. Developer is also planning on updating this version of the game further.[2]

The Santa Patch

Alternative, official Christmas theme for the game.
Compatible with modern versions of Postal.[3]
Included in the Steam and GOG versions and is enabled automatically during holidays.[4]

  1. Download the mod from Running With Scissors website (under "old stuff").[6]
  2. Open santa.exe and press the Setup button.
  3. When you get the directory menu, click Browse and go to <path-to-game>. Select the Postal folder and confirm.
  4. Press the X-mas button.

Widescreen resolution

Postal runs natively in 640x480 resolution and there is no option in a menu to change resolution. However, it's possible to enable upscaling in the Steam version[citation needed] to any resolution desired. Unfortunately, game only allows for 4:3 resolutions and it's going to use letterbox for widescreen resolutions. Developer is planning on making a patch to allow playing in widescreen resolutions.

Running Steam version of Postal in custom resolution[citation needed]
  1. Go to the Steam Library and right click on POSTAL.
  2. From a menu, choose Properties.
  3. Go to General tab and press Set Launch Options...
  4. In a text box type in: --glframebufferobject --resolution 1024x768.
  5. Change the resolution values, if you want.
  6. Click OK and launch the game.

Windowed

It's possible to run either OS X or Linux versions of the game in Window mode. Also Steam version allows to run a game in Window Mode. To run it in Window mode, either press Alt+ Enter or add --windowed to launch parameters.[7]
