Issues fixed

Crashing/unable to launch

Unplug controllers[3]

Unplug any controllers/gamepads or other peripherals.

Launch as admin[4]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Right-click on PokerNight2.exe
  3. Click Run as administrator
Run in compatibility mode[citation needed]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Right-click on PokerNight2.exe
  3. Click Properties and then the Compatibility tab.
  4. Tick Run this program in compatibility mode for: and select an operating system in the drop-down menu.
  5. Once selected, click Apply and then OK to close the window.

Notes

Different compatibility modes have worked for different users, it is recommended to try a variety of them.[5]
Download dinput8.dll[6]
  1. Install the latest DirectX End-User Runtimes.
  2. If problems persist, download dinput8.dll.
  3. Place the file in the installation folder.
Install VC++ 2010[7]
  1. Download this and install the VC++ package from Microsoft.
  2. Exit Steam and restart the client.

Missing "D3DX9_41.dll" error

Install the DirectX Updater[8]

Issues unresolved

Not responding/crashing after "Click anywhere" screen

Users are reporting that the game is crashing/not responding after the "Click anywhere to continue" menu screen.[9]

Suggested Fix: Remove any old save file (file name: pnati2.save) from the save game data location (see Game data section above)
