Add space between "advertising" and "on" in the "Advertising" section. It looks like one word right now.

Done thanks!

Functions Extension

Can you consider Winter as the parser instead of ParserFunctions as an extension. It seems more feature complete and the conditionals are much nicer, at least in terms of Pipes for tables. Also, opinion?. http://imgur.com/a/NTUNR They're not too bad, but i think Svetlanas working on a better one. --Alphasite 01:28, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm not currently working on one, but I've already submitted mine to the Logo competition. -User:Svetlana/sig 21:51, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

What the wiki is about

This is the about page for the wiki. I personally think that the most noticable thing about this page should be a section on thins like: why this wiki exists, who it's for, what it showcases, and a brief history of the site.

I know we're not as formal as wikipedia, but their about page would serve as a general guide on what to include. Newmansan 10:39, 22 February 2012 (EST)

Thanks man

Glad you liked my stuff. It's kinda funny, I've been keeping a personal wiki of all the game-fixes I had to find out the hard way over the years, so some of the text I just had to copy-paste over. Crazy how similar my layout was to the one you settled on for this siteĀ :) Thanks for setting this whole thing up btw. Awesome job. --Gnome Chimpsky 11:03, 23 February 2012 (EST)

People are currently being told to upload fixes to Mediafire so that they can be linked to. However, is there any form of redundancy in place so that should Mediafire stop hosting those files that they exist somewhere? This could be of concern in the future and implementing a solution to maintain a backup of these files early would be benificial.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on this, Andy.

Andytizer (talkcontribs)

I am slightly more concerned about the veracity of files and whether we should be linking to MediaFire at all because the files could be unverified and contain malicious files. I'm interested to hear thoughts about this as it's a tricky area that could get us negative press.

In terms of backing up files in case MediaFire goes down.. I will explore this issue. I'd be very interested in hearing some suggestions about where they could be hosted.

Alphasite (talkcontribs)

Isn't this the type of thing that should really be on reddit?

Zazaodh (talkcontribs)

Good call, will post to Reddit for further discussion!

Newmansan (talkcontribs)

I dunno, I think linking to files is sometimes necessary.

Perhaps what we do is prevent any article with file sharing links to be the approved article until someone verifies the files at those links?

And as for redundancy, might be worth looking into file front.

Alphasite (talkcontribs)

Maybe a script which will mirror any non image files to mediafire, fi they're are uploaded to us, and then link to that mirror. Obviously that would be a tricky solution though, and depending on copyright, against TOS/U for the files.

Newmansan (talkcontribs)

People are gonna post what they want, even if it goes against TSU. We just gotta be proactive about removing links if a publisher complains, but other then that we can't really be held responsible for what links people post.

Alphasite (talkcontribs)

Yeah, its a loosing battle, but thats fine. As you said just be careful about it. We relly should restrict sites though, not just a free for all, otherwise we'll have a virus problem somewhere.

Newmansan (talkcontribs)

Agreed. Perhaps mediafire, rapidshare, and filefront? I've used those and they seem to work well enough.
