Enable EAX

Modify quality_control.ini[1]
  • Open <path-to-game>/quality_control.ini
  • Change the following lines to read as follows:

EAX_support=1
3D_sound=1

  • Save and close the file.

Notes

3D sound support is broken; sounds are played at maximum volume as soon as the player is within hearing range.

Issues fixed

Game runs slow

The game occasionally fails to detect the number of CPU cores when it uses technology like Intel's Hyperthreading, resulting in poor performance.
Manually set Max Voxel Threads[1]
  1. From the game's launcher, click on "Settings".
  2. From the window which appears, click on the "Advanced" tab.
  3. Click on the menu next to Max Voxel Threads and select the number which represents the number of logical CPU cores your computer has.
  4. Click "OK".

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/336610/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (336610) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
