Field of view (FOV)

Set FOV in config.dat[2]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\data\
  2. Make a backup of config.dat
  3. Open config.dat with a hex editor such as HxD.
  4. Find these variables:
    • property.name.defaultFOV.value
    • property.name.defaultFirstPersonFOV.value
  5. Next to them, change the default values (48 and 47.448) to your liking
  6. Save the file and start the game

Issues fixed

Game crashes to desktop after a few minutes

Even though the game starts OK after a few minutes it crashes to desktop (Windows 10).
Turn Windows networking off
  1. Turn off (disable) windows netowkring by disabling your Ethernet connection.
  2. Red River will start and enter off line mode. There won't be any more crashes
  3. Red River is same engine as Dragon Rising and Nvidia lists the same fix for that on an official page.

Game refuses to launch

Download the final version of Games for Windows Live

Download Games for Windows Live version 3.5 directly from Microsoft.[3]

Game does not launch and gives a "SecuLauncher Error" message

Disable the file "patch1"

Disable the file "patch1" in the installation folder either by deleting it or renaming it to something else.[4]
