Field of view (FOV)

Setting a custom FOV[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Bin\.
  2. Open config.ini.
  3. Change Cfg.FOV =, Cfg.FOVRun = and Cfg.ZoomFOV = to the desired values.
Add FOV slider to options menu[citation needed]
  1. Download and extract Necrovision Extended Menu.
  2. Copy extracted files to game's location.

Windowed

Use Necrovision Extended Menu[2]
  1. Download and extract Necrovision Extended Menu.
  2. Copy extracted files to game's location.
  3. Run the game and disable Fullscreen mode from in-game's options.

Notes

It is very likely that the game will bug out when trying to set Windowed mode when using DirectX 10 renderer - use DirectX 9 instead.[2]
The game natively starts in fullscreen mode no matter the config option. Simply go to game's options and toggle fullscreen option twice to force the game to Windowed mode.

Issues fixed

Game crashes after loading

Start the game in DirectX 9 mode[2]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Bin and edit config.ini.
  2. Find Cfg.RenderDevice = and set the value to Cfg.RenderDevice = 1.

Notes

Make sure not to use +dx10 command line parameter.

Script errors appear when launching

May be caused by a faulty desktop shortcut.
Run .exe file directly[3]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\Bin\.
  2. Run the game using the .exe file.

Incorrect audio localization

Steam sometimes downloads both the English and German voiceovers.
Disable localization[citation needed]
  1. Open the installation folder, browse to data.
  2. Remove any incorrect localization (e.g. voiceovers_german.pak)

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/7860/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (7860) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
