Fallout is the first game in the Fallout (series). Template:Infobox Fallout (series)

Windows

Availability

Template:Availability Table

GOG.com version of the game runs the best on modern operating systems.
Most versions of Fallout are censored where models of children have been replaced by adults.[1]
Instructions

Fallout Revived

This is a packaged pirated version of the game which also includes the Unofficial 1.3.5 Patch and the Fallout1 High Resolution Patch v3.0.6.

Improvements

Semi-Official 1.2 Patch

This patch is in addition to the standard version 1.2 on most rereleases of the game (GOG.com, Steam, White Label).

Unofficial 1.3.5 Patch

Semi-Official 1.2 Patch must be installed first.
Combined with Semi-Official 1.2 Patch, these patches fix virtually all bugs.
Patches children back into the game no matter which base version of Fallout is used.

Fallout1 High Resolution Patch v3.0.6

Forum thread and Wiki page providing more information.
Allows one to choose widescreen resolutions.
Screenshots appear as black screens.

Sfall

There is some confusion about Sfall for Fallout. No version of Sfall works or has been developed for Fallout, only for Fallout 2.
A version called 'Timeslip Fallout Engine Tweaks v1.4' or sfall1.7z is buggy and does not work properly on Fallout.
The developer Timeslip has stated: "There has never been a fallout 1 version of sfall. The mod that was available that shared the same name was not sfall in the fallout 2 sense, but mostly just a glorified fix for the black screen issues. This can now be accomplished more easily, and with less restrictions on which version of the fallout exe you need to use, with the resolution patch."[2]
