Issues fixed

Linux: game crashes on launch when running open source Radeon drivers

Larian Studios has hard-coded a check for a string only set by the propriety divers.
Compile and pre-load a shim[4][5]
  1. Ensure you have installed gcc and the headers for libc and OpenGL (on Debian and Debian-derived distributions you should install build-essential and libgl1-mesa-dev).
  2. Download the shim from here.
  3. Compile the shim from the command line with gcc -s -O3 -shared -fPIC -o shim.so -ldl shim.c.
  4. Set the game's launch options in Steam to allow_glsl_extension_directive_midshader=true LD_PRELOAD="/path/to/shim.so" %command%.

Notes

Requires the user to compile the shim.
This fix works for systems using open source Intel GPU drivers, also.
Depending on your system, you may need to add ALSOFT_DRIVERS=pulse to the launch options.

Crash to desktop on startup

Close MSI Afterburner[6]
