Issues fixed

Spiderweb Software has put together an Updates and Support Page on their website.

1280x720 resolution not listed

1280x720 is not listed when running the game normally.
Set 1280x720 with Avernum 6 DX.exe[1]
  1. Run the DirectX version from the Start menu or directly via the executable Avernum 6 DX.exe in the installation folder.
  2. Set the game resolution to 1280x720 and choose to save the change.
  3. Exit and run the game normally and it will now run at 1280x720.

Poor performance

Use Avernum 6 DX.exe (Windows only)[citation needed]
  1. Run the DirectX executable from the Start menu or with Avernum 6 DX.exe in the installation folder.
  2. If it performs better you can update your shortcuts to point to it by default.
Change detail setting[citation needed]
  1. Change the graphics setting to a different level.
  2. Experiment with the results.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/206060/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (206060) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
