This game does not follow the XDG Base Directory Specification on Linux.
Settings are tied to the save game data and cannot be modified.
Game data is saved in both of these locations but the game only looks in the first location when loading data (if save data is unavailable in-game copy the files from the secondary location into the primary location).

Issues unresolved

Known Bugs:[2]

  1. A lighting glitch post-game.
  2. PS3 Controllers sometimes don't work with the OS X version; D-pads don't work sometimes
  3. Fight against "The Wall" occasionally bugs out and gets stuck in an animation
  4. Drowning in some water and getting stuck in a wall
  5. Dpad with Xbox controller (unfixable)
  6. Talking and being on ladders

Common Non-bugs:

  1. Getting stuck in a dungeon. Just use Menu -> Map -> Return to entrance
  2. Game looking "glitchy" when you end up out of bounds

Issues fixed

Save games missing

Restore saves from secondary location[citation needed]
If saves are suddenly missing (most likely due to deleting browser cookies), restore from the secondary location (see Game data).

Black screen (Windows)

Reinstall DirectX[3]

MSVCR100.dll missing (Windows)

Reinstall Visual C++ Redistributable[citation needed]
Download link

Sound delay (Linux)

Create a new run.sh[4][5]
  1. Go to the installation folder.
  2. Rename run.sh to run2.sh
  3. Create a new file run.sh with the following content:
#!/bin/bash
PULSE_LATENCY_MSEC=20 ./run2.sh

Steam achievements don't work on Linux

Make sure to install the game in the default Steam folder[citation needed]

Dpkg error in Arch Linux (Steam)

Add code to application.xml and run.sh[6]
  1. Add this to application.xml within the <application> element: <supportedProfiles>extendedDesktop</supportedProfiles>
  2. In run.sh, you can replace everything (sans the export of LD_LIBRARY_PATH) with: /opt/adobe-air-sdk/bin/adl share/META-INF/AIR/application.xml share/
  3. Save the files and run the game in Steam.

Notes

Try to run the game from .swf file if this solution doesn't work.

Adobe AIR on Linux (if flash file doesn't work)

Install .deb files[citation needed]
Adobe AIR was discontinued for Linux on June 14, 2011 with the release of v2.6.
There are unofficial .deb installers (32 and 64-bit) available if you don't want to hassle with the terminal.

Notes

This has become obsolete due to developer providing the game in an .swf file; use this solution only if the file doesn't work.
