Developer recommends these generic fixes: [1]

  • If you are on a laptop, make sure your power settings are allowing your computer to run at max settings.
  • Update your graphics drivers, audio drivers, chipset drivers and DirectX.
  • Change process priority for the game to "high" in the task manager.
  • Run the game in compatibility mode.
  • Run the game with administrator privileges.
  • Run the executable directly instead of from your Steam launcher (here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dustforce).
  • Run the game in windowed mode and resize the game to be small.
  • If you're on Windows, make sure you update your DirectX 9.0c (not just Dx10/11!) You can do that with this download.
  • Move your game installation folder.
  • Disable D3dOVERRIDER
  • For nVidia users: open nVidia control panel, navigate to 3D Settings and lower everything to minimum values.
