Template:Infobox The Binding of Isaac is a game by Edmund McMillen and Florian Himsl, the makers of Super Meat Boy (2010).

Issues and Fixes

Steam achievements not unlocking

On certain systems Steam achievements may fail to unlock and get registered.
A fan made fix has been developed to solve this issue on Windows. It is not possible, however, to solve the problem on Mac without access to Windows.

Steam achievements for Mac users

For the achievements gained on a Mac to be unlocked in Steam, one has to copy and replace the so.sol files as outlined here. The file is located in:

~/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash Player/#SharedObjects/''<Random String>''/localhost/

After extracting it, follow the instructions given in the aforementioned link. Finally launch the game and see the achievements unlock.
The developer has been notified on how to solve the problem and it might be corrected eventually, rendering this fix obsolete.

Controller Support

the control options screen

This game does not natively support gaming peripherals such as gamepads.

Joy to Key

The developers recommend, somewhat light-heartedly, to google a utility named joy to key.

XPadder

Alternatively, you can use XPadder to map different buttons and stick movements to keyboard presses. Tutorials are available from the website, xpadder.com.

Bind whatever you like to isaacs control scheme, I would recommend left stick to move, right stick to fire direction.

  • W, A, S, D = move
  • UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = fire direction
  • Space = use item
  • E = throw bomb
