Template:Infobox Fallout (series)
- Shares many similarities with Fallout 3 in terms of its engine and performance.
- Fallout: New Vegas is a Steamworks game, whereas Fallout 3 used Games For Windows Live.
Availability
- Fallout: New Vegas uses Steamworks which means that all versions, including retail and digital distribution, all require Steam to be used. All versions and DLC associated with the game are sold with a serial key which can be redeemed on Steam.
Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition
- The most complete version of the game, including its 6 pieces of DLC.
Loading DLC
- Once DLC is bought and downloaded, it must be enabled from the splash screen of Fallout: New Vegas, under the 'Data Files' menu option. Make sure each DLC pack is checked.
Improvements
Mods
- Nexus Mod Manager - the best mod manager for Bethesda games, making the process of installing mods much easier.
- Fallout New Vegas Nexus - the most popular host for almost all Fallout New Vegas mods.
JSawyer
- Requires all DLCs be downloaded and installed in order to work.
- A "general difficulty tweak and bug fix mod" by the creator of the game, JSawyer.
New Vegas Uncut
- Mod author MoBurma has listed content which has been cut from the game due to time constraints.
- Restores content from the game in a number of individual mods.
- Many mods in the series are not compatible with each other, and are not necessarily suited to for use in a full playthrough.
NTCore 4GB Patch
- Improves performance for any x64 bit operating system with more than 2GB RAM, by allowing it to access up to 4GB RAM.
