Modify Field of View (multiplayer)
- Go to the directory with your in-game profile (i.e RockBlock72, HowdyDoody45, DerpFerp19)
This can be found at:
Local Disk (C:)\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\Your Username(for example Rawk Hawk 1234, XxXTripleKillzXxX, JichaelMacksonGoop 56, etc.)
- When inside your profile directory, open the .cfg file titled "config_mp".
REMINDER: Make a backup file of your .cfg before you edit the command lines.
- Use CTRL + F and type in "fov" to quickly locate the command line with field of view in it. (For those of you using Notepad ++, it's the 66th line ,assuming you haven't added or removed any command lines).
- Delete the numerical value inside of seta cg_fov "65" so that no numerical value is displayed inside of the quotation marks.
- Insert a custom variable inside the quotation marks to reflect the desired field of view (e.g. seta cg_fov "90" to set field of view to 90).
- Save your changes and exit the file.
An alternative method to edit your field of view is through in-game console commands.
- To bring up the console, you must first enable it within the options menu located within the game options section.
- Press the tilde key (~) and the in-game console will appear.
- Type in /cg_fov XX when XX is your desired field of view (e.g. /cg_fov 80 for a field of view of 80).
- Press enter to activate the console command and press tilde (~) again to close the console.
