Tomb Raider is the first instalment of Tomb Raider series, and is the introduction to Lara Croft. It was released for MS-DOS in 1996, during the twilight of the DOS era, and is a 3D platformer and action game.
The original game was later remade into Tomb Raider: Anniversary, with adjustments to both the plot and gameplay.
Availability

DOSBox compatability
The original disc release works in DOSBox as long as you remember the following:
- You need to mount the CD manually, as described on DOSBox.
- You might have to unplug certain joysticks. For example, Xbox 360 Controllers have been reported to cause the menu to enter an infinite spin. Joystick support can be disabled if it is not being used.
Music
The PC release of Tomb Raider, does not contain the music by Nathan McCree as the console versions does. However, by using the program Glidos, it is possible to add this music back in.
