You can fine tune the difficulty of the AI drivers in career mode by editing a file.

  1. Open <path-to-game>\gamedata\frontend\Mods.ini in a text editor
  2. In the [Mods] section, change the value of the CareerDiff entry from the default value of 0 to an integer between 60 (easier) and 100 (harder), inclusive.
    • 80-85 is a reasonable starting point for challenging but not impossible opponents.
  3. Save the file and restart the game.
