Essential improvements

Steam version has game breaking bugs

Steam version has game breaking bug and some videos won't play.[1]

Late in the Steam version, your alchemic briefcase will be greyed out, which means that you will not be able to progress in the game any further. This file is from the 2001 disk version, which does not contain this bug.

  1. Download this fix
  2. Go to <path-to-game>.
  3. Add the downloaded Necrono.exe into <path-to-game> and select yes to overwrite.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/302390/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (302390) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
  2. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
