Water Margin: A Tale of Clouds and Wind is a Medieval China brawler game developed by Never Ending Soft Team and published by King Tec Information Corp. in Taiwan and Piko Interactive in North America. It is based on the Water Margin series of Chinese novels. The game was originally known as Shui Hu: Feng Yun Zhuan in Taiwan.

The game was originally published by King Tec Information Corp. in Taiwan and was released as an unlicensed Sega Genesis game in 1996 and later in 1999. Piko Interactive later obtained the publishing rights to the game and localized reproduction cartridges of the game on August 6, 2015. The localized version of the game was later re-released through Steam in 2019[1] and GOG.com in 2022.[2]

Essential improvements

Run in other emulators

The game's ROM file can be easily accessed and renamed with the appropriate file extension for other emulators.
How to run the game's ROM in other emulators[3]
  1. After installing the game to the computer, go to <path-to-game>\res.
  2. Make a duplicate of the file game, then rename this duplicated file with a descriptive name and add a file extension commonly used by Sega Genesis emulators (e.g. *.bin, *.md).
  3. The ROM file is now ready for use in different emulators. See Emulation:Sega Genesis for recommended emulators.
