Hedon is a fantasy FPS developed by Zan. The game was developed using the GZDoom source port. It is notable for being the first commercial GZDoom-developed game with a measure of commercial success.[1]

The game once started out as a total conversion mod for Doom II in 2016, but over the course of its development, it later became its own standalone game, and uses a specialized fork of GZDoom to utilize the game's features.[2] The game was released on March 21, 2019. New content updates, bugfixes, and other improvements were released throughout July to December of 2019.[3][4][5] The game was well-received by players and it later received The Spaceship of Theseus award during the 2019 Cacawards by the Doom community.[6]

On August 15, 2021, a sequel, Hedon: Bloodrite, was announced by the developer as a free update to the game to previous owners of Hedon accompanied by a price increase from $9.99 to 16.99.[7] The sequel expands upon its predecessor by incorporating RPG elements.
